What’s the story behind your name?
I love anything kitsch and unusual, so that is where my name comes from, my love of kitsch!
Who runs your business? Do you have time to do any other jobs or is this full time?
The business is run and owned by me, with additional help sometimes from Dave, Clare and my parents. I do also work in Procurement during the week, and run Kitsch Republic in my spare time.
What do you make?
I make a variety of creative led homewares and gifts. These include lampshades, coasters, worktop savers, cushions and lots more!
Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere!
Where can people find you?
At the weekends I can be found at various markets around Greater Manchester including Gatley Worker Bee Market, Bollington, Marple and Heaton Moor. I also have various stockist in the area including The Warren (Stockport), Chortlon Art Market (Chorlton), Mootiful (Macclesfield), The Fox Fairy (Manchester), Rock n Rolla Emporium (Narbeth) and L’auto école (Paris).
Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to start their own creative small business?
Believe in your abilities! It is easier said than done, but the more you believe in your ability and products the more sucessful you will become.
