Daisy Imprints

Make the most of precious memories with DAISY IMPRINTS jewellery.

What’s the story behind your name?

My eldest daughter is called Anastasia and our family nick name for her is Daisy. In the week I decided to set up my business I was walking to collect the kids from school and was mulling over possible business names. I knew I wanted something Imprints. I said Daisy Imprints out loud…it was perfect!

I set up Daisy Imprints in May 2008 as a single mum of three young children. I run it on my own sourcing supplies, getting business, completing all admin, marketing, accounts and I make all my charms from start to finish!

My goal was to have a job I can work around the kids (I now have four: 22 years, 19 years, 15 years and 8 years). I can and do work all hours day and night to complete my work and make sure I am around every morning and for pick ups, after schools etc etc!

I contract the work of a local jeweller Rebecca Lawley Silver to carry out soldering work and make my bespoke bangles, necklaces, rings and bracelets. Rebecca and I have been friends for 43 years!

I make solid silver fingerprint, handprint, footprint, animal print (cat and dog paw print and horse hoof print), writing, drawing and bespoke cut out charms, jewellery, cufflinks and gifts.

Where do you get your inspiration?

My children have always been my inspiration as I predominantly created my range with their prints. I have made various tweaks, adaptations and developments over the years.

All my customers inspire me as each item I make is totally unique from the prints of day old babies to those of Grandparents.

I work closely with families and staff in various hospices, hospitals and undertakers where I take prints of those individuals with life limiting illnesses or indeed who have already passed away. To be able to provide a small element of comfort to their families at such sad times helps me enormously with this work.

Daisy 3Where can people find you?

I work from my home in Cheadle and can arrange appointments at various times. I can come to ‘printing parties’ at your own home or play group setting for groups of people.

I attend various Markets throughout the year, including many Worker Bee Markets in Bramhall, Reddish and Marple Bridge

All events I am attending are listed on my Facebook Page I have a website as well as Instagram and Twitter accounts. In response to the impact of covid19 I introduced fingerprint putty kits so that, along with my inkless wipe kits to capture hand, foot and animal prints, all prints can be captured remotely!

Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to start their own creative small business?

If you are thinking about setting up a business just do it! Keep focussed on why you set the business up. Outsource what you need to, do what you’re best at.

Daisy 1Have you missed Worker Bee Markets?

Of course I’ve missed your fabulous Worker Bee Markets and you! I always love to see customers and potential customers face to face. The hustle and bustle of your events is great fun and being able to talk to people about my work, the weather or simple to catch up with friends is just wonderful and something I have missed greatly. We have survived all kinds of weather and have laughed through wind and rain! I am so looking forward to when we can set up again and maybe this time we won’t moan so much when it’s cold!
