We’re proud to support new businesses, especially those as tasty as Crescent Catering
What’s the story behind your name?
I have been a chef for 22 years working in hotels and restaurants learning all kinds of cooking and food styles. Six months ago I was made redundant so finally plucked up the courage to set up on my own. I converted my garage into a kitchen (I did all the work myself so was super proud when I was recently awarded a food hygiene rating of 5) and had to decide a name. Lots of names came to mind but didn’t suit, so because I prepare everything from home and we live on a Crescent, it made sense to name the business Crescent Catering.
Who runs your business? Do you have time to do any other jobs or is this full time?

This is my full time job! However I’ve always worked very long hours so I’m loving the flexibility of being at home more often and being involved in family life. It’s lovely to be in a position to do the school run and spend quality time with my children.
What do you make?
I’m known for my wood fired pizzas at the markets but I also cater for hot and cold buffets and private dining. I have lots of catering experience and there are really no limits to what I can offer. If you name it, I’ll cook it!

Where do you get your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from all the different establishments I have been lucky enough to have worked for: Italian (Piccolinos), Classic French Brasserie (Malmaison Hotels), Asian Fusion (Panacea) and large high end buffets and functions (Mottram Hotel).
Where can people find you?
You can find me at the Makers Markets in Stockport and the Northern Quarter, I also do regular pop ups at The Beartowntap in Congleton, The Vinehopshop in Poynton and The Northumberland Arms in Marple Bridge.
And of course the Worker Bee Markets, I’ll be at Brookside Garden Centre on the 19 April, 21 June, 16 August and 18 October, at the lovely Broadstone Mill on the 23 May and 14 November and The Seashell Trust on the 20 June.
But it’s best to follow me on social media as there are always lots of other events popping up and I’d love to see some new faces. I’m on Twitter , Instagram, and Facebook.
